Oyate Health Center To Host COVID-19 Testing at North Middle School

RAPID CITY – The Oyate Health Center, in partnership with North Middle School, will host a mass COVID-19 testing event for its students, their immediate families, and staff on Friday, September 4, from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM.

To help track and limit the spread of COVID-19 in the Rapid City Native American community, the Great Plains Tribal Chairmen’s Health Board and the Oyate Health Center reached out to local schools to offer the opportunity to host mass COVID-19 testing. North Middle School welcomed the opportunity to host the event.

Anyone who wishes to test should arrive at the entrance to North Middle School off North Maple Avenue. Traffic will exit to MacArthur Street after test completion.

We have included registration forms that must be filled out before testing can be conducted.

For families, a separate form will need to be completed for each individual. If someone is unable to complete the form before arriving, we will have forms available.

The COVID-19 antigen test results are available within 24 hours, and all POSITIVES will be contacted directly by a medical staff provider from the Oyate Health Center.

If the result is negative, the individual will not receive a phone call.

Educational materials with the most current recommendations and guidelines outlined by the CDC will be made available. A disposable mask will be provided to all students who attend the testing event.

Testing will be conducted by Oyate Health Center staff with assistance from the Great Plains Tribal Chairmen’s Health Board and the We Are Warriors Emergency Operations Center.

Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions (605) 355-2500.

An adult must accompany anyone under the age of 18.
